The Fabulous Bebe Buell - Everyone Knows Her Name
Bebe Buell is a well-known star in her own right as a model and singer but she's also well known for having dated and married a long list of famous rock stars.
Bebe started modeling for the prestigious Ford Modeling Agency at the age of 17; she also met rocker Todd Rundgren whom she dated for several years. In November 1974 Bebe was chosen as Playboy's Playmate of the Month and she was one of the first top fashion models to pose for the magazine. The Ford Agency wasn't as impressed with her career move and cancelled her modeling contract and she wound up signing with the equally prestigious Wilhemina agency.
Bebe enjoyed an open relationship with Rundgren and dated many famous musicians including Mick Jagger, Iggy Pop, David Bowie, Jimmy Page, Elvis Costello and Steven Tyler of Aerosmith. Bebe had been seeing Steven Tyler in 1976 and gave birth to a baby in July 1977 that she named Liv. Todd Rungren was named as the father, until a paternity test in the late 1980's confirmed that Steven Tyler was Liv's paternal father.
Bebe wrote a tell all autobiography in 2001 titled "Rebel Heart: An American Rock and Roll Journey". The book was a best seller for months on the New York Times Bestseller list. The summer of 2006 marked a return to the stage with shows in both New York and Boston with a tour to follow.
When the smash hit "Almost Famous" was filmed, Cameron Crowe stated he based the main character on two women, one was Penny Lane and the other was Bebe Buell and much of the main character's dialogue was taken directly from things that Bebe said in interviews over the years.
If you like to have models with an interesting story to tell in your Playboy collection, be sure and make the divine Bebe Buell a part of it.
