Wal-Mart Playmates?
Earlier this year, there was a much talked about Playboy issue that was proposed that included the women of Wal-Mart. The Playboy issue never made it to the light of day but the photo shoot of the women of Wal-Mart made it to three places.
For anyone that loves to collect obscure Playboy material, the women of Wal-Mart will qualify. The irony of the issue is that Wal-Mart only sells censored music and prides itself on being a "family" type of business. When the Women of Wal-Mart story broke, the higher ups at Wal-Mart were not pleased. The photo shoots were already done and in the light of threats of litigation, the Magazine issue was replaced. The edition that was slated to appear in the magazine was originally posted on the Playboy.com website only.
Then the Wal-Mart photo shoot was compiled into a DVD that is still available for sale if you're looking to add it to your collection and last but not least, the best was saved for last. The highest quality photos from the shoot were included in the
Playboy's Sexy 100 issue and not only are the most beautiful women in the world in this special edition, the Wal-Mart women and even some beauties from Home Depot. Playboy's Sexy 100 only comes out once a year and is a hotly anticipated issue for fans and collectors alike.
If you like to collect Playboy items that are real conversation starters, the Women of Wal-Mart saga will certainly qualify for a memorable place in your Playboy collection.

Collection Playboy Magazines from the 1960's
The 1960's are often thought of as the decade of love and enlightenment. If you are a collector of Playboy magazine, you know of the movers and shakers of the era appeared within the pages.
Some of the highlights of the
1960's Playboys are the January 1960 issue that has the Playmate of the Month, one miss Stella Stevens. June 1963 has the original pink loving girl, Jayne Mansfield in one of her last appearances in the pages of Playboy before her untimely death in a tragic auto accident in June 1967. April 1964 is a very memorable issue as it has the late, great Peter Sellers (not nude) posing with numerous models and acting out great love scenes from the early days of cinema. Peter has fun with Rudolph Valentino and other icons of the era.
For Playboy collectors that enjoy issues that have a little fun to them, they will enjoy adding July 1969 to their collection. It features a beautiful, young Miss Barbara Klien on the cover looking up demurely. You would know her better as one Miss Barbi Benton who was the girlfriend of Hugh Hefner for many years. October 1969 features Michael Caine pulling a Peter Sellers and acting out a pictorial with nude models (he was clothed) titled "War Games".
And those are just a few of the highlights of the 1960's series of Playboy Magazines. So much happened during that decade from the Beatles landing in America to man walking on the moon and it was all documented in photos, interviews and articles in Playboy Magazine.
