Claudia Jennings - Eternal Beauty

If you like to collect Playmates with interesting life stories - Claudia Jennings is a name to remember. She came from humble beginnings in Wisconsin and later found employment as a receptionist at Playboy Magazine where she soon caught the eye of a photographer.

Claudia was Playboy's Playmate of the Month in November 1969 and also Playmate of the Year for 1970. She also appears in November 1974. After appearing in Playboy, Claudia became a "B" movie queen and appeared in numerous films as well as television shows.

In 1979, Claudia tried out for a role on Charlie's Angels. Her previous past at Playboy killed any chance she had for the role and the Shelley Hack wound up getting the role of the new Angel that Claudia had tried out for. She was deeply immersed in a drug fueled lifestyle and had just escaped from doing drugs when she fell asleep at the wheel of her Volkswagon Beetle convertible. She was clean and sober at the time of the accident and she was only 29.

She is also featured posthumously in several issues such as Playboy 50 Beautiful Women 1989 and Playboy Magazine Playboy Music Jamboree April 1980. There are over 30 issues that feature Claudia Jennings, collect 'em all.

Obtaining Playboy Back Issues

Playboy has been a monthly magazine since the 1950s when Hugh Hefner didn't even number the original issue with a series label as he wasn't sure there would be enough funds to pay for a second edition. There was and a publishing empire was born.

If you enjoy collection Playboy magazines, you're not alone. There are millions of collectors and all of them collecting for different reasons and while some only collect certain Playmates or a particular series, other collectors enjoy the monthly editions and finding the elusive Playboy back issues.

Should you need a particular issue such as September 1954 which featured the beautiful Goddess of the Screen, Gina Lollobrigida. January 1955 is a hotly collected issue as it features the immortal pin up girl, Bettie Page. Anyone that is a collector of all things Bettie whether Playboy or not will make this item a "must have" for their collection.

Another great idea for back issues is as a gift for a collector of Playboys. If you have someone near and dear that is just so darned hard to buy presents for, they'll be thrilled to get a Playboy back issue featuring the incomparable Jayne Mansfield or other noteworthy issue of their favorite magazine. One idea would be to wrap the present in a poster of the celebrity Playmate within and keep them guessing while they unwrap it.
